SoCAL BOYS: T.C. Whaley Signs With Queens (N.C.)

La Costa Canyon senior middie T.C. Whaley has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division II lacrosse at Queens University of Charlotte in North Carolina.

Whaley is one of four players to sign with Queens during the early-signing period, and he is the school’s only signee from the West so far.

A three-year starter, Whaley will be a captain on the Mavericks team this season after he helped lead La Costa Canyon to the CIF-San Diego Section title, WSL’s No. 2 ranking in California and WSL’s No. 5 ranking in the West in 2008.

"With two strong classes in a row, this year we were looking to bring in some immediate impact players and I think we did that with these four players," Queens head coach Jim Fritz said. "I am excited about their athleticism and what they bring to our program."
