Coronado senior middie Melissa Humphrey has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at UC Berkeley.

Humphrey is one of 12 players to commit to the Golden Bears’ program during the early-signing period, and she is one of three from San Diego County who will be heading to UC Berkeley next fall. As a junior, Humphrey helped lead Coronado to the CIF-San Diego Section championship game.

Last season, Humphrey was a U.S. Lacrosse Academic All-American.

“Her speed and ability to put the ball in the net will bring tremendous depth to Cal’s attacking midfield,” the school said in a news release.
