SoCAL GIRLS: Francie Crowell Signs With Notre Dame

Los Alamitos senior attack Francie Crowell has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Notre Dame.

Crowell, who will be the first Californian to ever play women’s lacrosse at Notre Dame, said she chose the South Bend, Ind.-based school over UC Davis and Mount St. Mary’s.

“It was a really good educational opportunity, and it was something different,” Crowell said. “I’ve never lived in the snow before, so South Bend is going to be pretty different. But I’m excited about it.”

Over the last two seasons, Crowell has helped lead Los Alamitos to the CIF-Southern Section championship game. Crowell said she will be receiving a partial athletic scholarship.

“It’s going to be a really great opportunity to play at a really high competitive level on a daily basis,” Crowell said. “I’m excited about going to the next level.”
