SoCAL GIRLS: Alanna Parker Signs With Davidson

Spring Valley Monte Vista senior middie Alanna Parker has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Davidson College.

Parker said she chose the North Carolina-based school over UC Davis and Hofstra.

“I love the campus, and the academics are top notch,” Parker said. “I wanted to make sure I was going to an academic school, and the team really welcomed me and treated me very well. I felt like I could play with them for four years.”

Parker said she will be getting a partial athletic scholarship and a partial academic scholarship to attend Davidson. She added that she is excited to continue to prove that top-level lacrosse can be played by West Coast players.

“People doubt us, because the sport’s newer to the West Coast,” Parker said. “We have the athleticism over here, and we prove ourselves to them by working twice as hard.”
