WASH BOYS: Landon Carr Signs With Maryland

Curtis senior middie Landon Carr has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Maryland.

Carr said he chose Maryland over Cornell, North Carolina, Ohio State and Harvard. Carr added that he has accepted a 30 percent athletic scholarship.

“When it came down to it, I really wanted to go to a big school,” Carr said. “That was a part of it. I got an athletic scholarship, which helped my parents, and I had the ability to play on a great team. That’s going to be good for the next couple years. I just want to make a difference and hopefully get into the national championship.”

Carr said that going to the East Coast to play NCAA Division I lacrosse will fulfill a dream, and he described being offered a scholarship as, “a shocker.”

“College lacrosse, Division I, only has like 12.6 scholarships,” Carr said. “When I knew I would get a piece of that pie, I was really happy.”
