ID HS: Coeur d'Alene Hires Jamison Mortensen

February 20th, 2008

Coeur d'Alene High School has named alum Jamison Mortensen as the new head coach of its boys varsity lacrosse team.

Mortensen replaces Paul Swartz, who led Coeur d'Alene to a 14-2 record and a second-place finish in the North Idaho Lacrosse League last season.

A native of Westminster, Md., and a 2003 graduate of Coeur d'Alene High School, Mortensen played on the school's first varsity team. He was an assistant coach on the school's varsity team and the head coach of the JV team in 2005 and 2004.

This will be Mortensen's first varsity head coaching job.

"I"m excited," Mortensen said. "It's what I want to do the rest of my life, as far as my career goes. I'm pretty stoked about coaching."
