MINN HS: Blake Names Rob Horn New Head Coach
February 15th, 2008
The Blake School has named Rob Horn as the new head coach of its boys varsity lacrosse team.
Horn, 26, replaces Joe Seivold, who led Blake to a 13-2 record last season. Blake won the state title in 2006 and 2005.
A native of Hilliard, Ohio, Horn played two seasons of NCAA Division II lacrosse at Wheeling Jesuit in 1999 and 2000. He went on to play two seasons of college club lacrosse at Minnesota-Duluth in 2001 and 2002.
Horn has coached alongside Colin Mulcahy the last four seasons at Benilde-St. Margaret's. He helped lead Benilde-St. Margaret's to a 17-0 record and the Minnesota State High School League state championship last season.
He is also presently the offensive coordinator at Minnesota-Duluth, a position he has held since 2003.
"It's a great opportunity to get out and start something myself," Horn said. "I was proud of what Colin and I established at Benilde, but at the same time, success brings change and I thought it was time to make a change for myself."
