February 15th, 2008
Nampa High School has named Chris Goellner as the new head coach of its boys varsity lacrosse team.
Goellner, 34, takes over a second-year varsity program that went 0-12 in its first season.
A native of Lincoln Park, N.J., Goellner played three seasons of college club lacrosse at Virginia Tech from 1992 to 1994, he said. Goellner served two seasons as head coach at Centennial, in 2004 and 2005. He took the team to the league title game in 2005 before losing to Timberline in overtime.
"I'm really excited to be at the beginning stages of a developing program," Goellner said. "We've got some pretty dedicated players. I'm just hoping to get things organized and build on what they've started there."
