MO HS: Hazelwood Central Hires Brian Livingston
January 25th, 2008
Hazelwood Central has hired alum Brian Livingston to be the new head coach of its boys varsity lacrosse team.
Livingston, 28, takes over for Aaron Oesch, who led the Hawks to an 0-10 record in his only season.
A native of Florissant, Mo., and a 1997 Hazelwood Central graduate, Livingston played two seasons of college club lacrosse at the University of Missouri in 1999 and 2000. Livingston was the varsity head coach at Hazelwood Central in 2005, he was the JV coach in 2004 and he was the freshman coach in 1998, he said.
Livingston said his first order of business will be to turn the team back into winners.
"We're going to start with the defense and work forward," Livingston said. "You can't win games if you can't stop the other team from scoring. That, and we're going to go back to the basics."
