UT GIRLS: Katie Christensen Signs with N. Dame (OH)

Jordan senior middie Katie Christensen has signed a national letter of intent to play NAIA lacrosse at Notre Dame College in South Euclid, Ohio.
Christensen will be heading to Notre Dame on an athletic scholarship, Jordan Coach Soni Bartlett said.
"It's pretty exciting, because she's the first girl in Utah to get a scholarship to play lacrosse," Bartlett said. "I think she'll be a significant contributor right off the bat."
Christensen helped lead Jordan to state championships in all four years she played with the team. She has twice been named the most valuable player of the state championship game, she was recently named a U.S. Lacrosse All-American and she was named first-team, All-State four straight years, Bartlett said.
In Jordan's 10-8 victory over Alta in this season's state title game, Christensen scored a game-high four goals.
"Katie is not only the best player to come out of Utah this year, but one of the best of the West," Notre Dame Coach Candace Taglianetti said in a news release. " Katie's natural athleticism, toughness, and speed should provide for a smooth transition to the collegiate game."
