OMAHA, Neb. -- Millard North has forfeited its 8-8 draw with Westside because it used ineligible players, Omaha Area Metro Lacrosse League President Andrew Valenta said.
In Nebraska, lacrosse is not school-sanctioned varsity sport, so players must register with U.S. Lacrosse to be eligible to compete. Valenta said league officials discovered after the April 4 game was played that Millard North used two players who had not registered.
Both players, who were not named, received three-game suspensions. Millard North's stats from the game have been erased, and the team's record now stands at 0-4.
Westside's stats will remain unchanged, and its record now stands at 1-3.
