KAN-MO BOYS: Pembroke Hill Downs Shawnee Mission East, 11-6

Senior attackman Robert Powell scored four goals and added an assist to lead Pembroke Hill to an 11-6 victory over Shawnee Mission East in a Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association non-league game Monday afternoon.
Senior middie Chris Burcham scored three goals, senior middie Seth Pierce scored twice and senior attackman Zack Sigler added a goal and an assist to help lead Pembroke Hill (5-1) to its fourth straight win.
In a losing effort, attackmen Ricky Stern and Ross Ringer both scored twice for Shawnee Mission East, which fell to 0-7.
Pembroke Hill led 6-4 at halftime but used a strong third quarter to take control of the game. Pembroke Hill scored four straight after halftime to build a 10-4 lead going into the final 12 minutes.
"Our passing left a little something to be desired in the first half," Pembroke Hill Coach Chris Kliewer said. "In the second half, we just got our passes up, gave ourselves more chances to score and were able to connect."
