Eastside Catholic
2006 Record: 11-3-1
The Skinny: Eastside Catholic was a force to be reckon with in Varsity B last season.
The Eagles finished atop the East Conference, and two of their three losses came against Varsity B champion Roosevelt. With Roosevelt out of the picture, Eastside Catholic will have the chance to step up and be a top challenger for the title.
As of press time, the team did not have a coach in place and, thus, information about the 2007 team was limited.
Predicted League Finish: 1st

Snohomish
Coach: Ike Duran
Coach: Ike Duran
2006 Record: 1-12-1
The Skinny: The 2005 Varsity B state champion Panthers are back in the state's lower-tiered league after one unsuccessful season at the Varsity A level.
Snohomish lost its coach shortly before the season last year, and it could only muster one victory over winless Bellevue. Snohomish also tied Overlake.
Logic would have it that the Panthers could be a top challenger in Varsity B again after being relegated. Coach Ike Duran could not be reached for comment.
Predicted League Finish: 2nd
The Skinny: Lakeside will field a Varsity B team for the first time this season to go along with its Varsity A squad, and it will not field a JV team.
League rules prevented that until this season, enabling Lakeside to do something a tad unorthodox with its program. Considering the A team won the state title last season and returns nine starters, there should be a lot of talent left over for the B team.
As of press time, the teams had not been split so no information about the players was available. However, simply based on the success of the Varsity A program, it stands to reason Lakeside will field a formidable B team.
"It's going to be a challenge to pick a team, because both teams are going to be competing at a varsity level," Lakeside Varsity A Coach Jamie Asaka said.
Predicted League Finish: 3rd
Nathan Hale
Coach: Doug Carmichael
2006 Record: 4-9-1
Three Players To Watch: Hannah LaCroix (Middie), Mari Carmichael (Attack), Isabel Harbaugh (Defense)
The Skinny: The Raiders return eight starters after graduating seven of 25 from its 2006 varsity roster and has potential to be an improved team.
Interim head coach Doug Carmichael said the key to a successful season at Nathan Hale this year will be keeping the top players healthy, something the Raiders struggled with last season.
"We had a bunch of ankle injuries last year that really hurt us," Carmichael said. "The girls are working out together and working on conditioning and doing things to strengthen their legs and ankles. We'll see if that can help."
Nathan Hale will be led by senior middie Hannah LaCroix, sophomore attack Mari Carmichael, sophomore defender Isabel Harbaugh and senior goalie Amy Brownwell.
LaCroix is fast, strong, has good stick skills and is a team player, Doug Carmichael said. Mari Carmichael is fast and has good stick stills, and Harbaugh is not intimidated by anything, Doug Carmichael said. Brownwell, meanwhile, is a Liberian native who stepped up to play in the cage last season after nobody else wanted to do it.
"We want to come out of the season feeling good about it," Doug Carmichael said. "Win, lose or draw, we want to play as well as we can."
Predicted League Finish: 4th
