TEX BOYS: Zachary Bigger Commits to Trine University
February 27th, 2009
Vista Ridge senior defenseman Zachary Bigger has committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Trine University.
Bigger said he also considered Colorado College, Bryant and Washington & Lee but chose the Angola, Ind.-based school for a variety of reasons.
“It’s a small, tight-knit community, I wanted to go to a school outside Texas and they have a sports-management program that I’m very interested in,” Bigger said. “I liked that they’re on the rise. I think Trine eventually can become a team that competes for an NCAA championship.”
Bigger said he is already preparing to make the transition from the high school to the college game.
“I’m really working on my stick skills, and I think I’ll be able to contribute early on,” he said. “Part of the reason why I picked Trine is because I think I’ll be able to contribute in year one or year two.”
