UT BOYS: Zach Bullett Commits to Mesa State College

Juan Diego Catholic senior long-stick middie Zach Bullett has committed to play NCAA Division II lacrosse at Mesa State College.
Bullett, the No. 1-ranked junior in the Western United States, picked the fledgling Grand Junction, Colo.-based program over several NCAA Division I schools. Bullett said he also considered Fairfield, Air Force, Jacksonville, Denver and Drexel.
“It was really hard to decide,” Bullett said. “For so long, I thought you’re not good unless you go DI. But I just felt a better connection with Coach (A.J.) Stevens.
“He guaranteed me a spot on the roster and offered me scholarship money. It’s close to home, my parents can come out and watch and it was more comfortable for me.”
Bullett added that he is fired up to take his game to the next level.
“I’m extremely excited,” he said. “I’ve wanted to play college lacrosse since forever. I’m not scared at all. I’m just pumped. Nothing could be more exciting for me than playing college lacrosse.”
