Woodbridge senior goalie John Barns has committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Bard College.

Barns said he also considered Chapman before settling in the Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y.-based school.

“They have a brand-new program, and I want to be a part of getting that program started,” Barns said. “I wanted to get a fresh start. I didn’t want to come on as a backup. I want to get right into playing college lacrosse.”

Barns said he is amped about taking his game to the next level.

“It’s going to be more intense, and I’m looking forward to that,” he said. “It’s going to be a challenge, and I want to test my abilities.”
