TEX GIRLS: Westwood Tops LBJ for Second Straight Win, 12-5
Senior attack Susan Killeavy had a game-high six points on three goals and three assists to lead Westwood to a 12-5 victory over LBJ in a Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League Central District game Thursday night.
Junior middie Sarah Mann added four points on three goals and an assist, junior middie Katelyn Kessler scored three times and sophomore middie Kayla Jones finished with a goal and an assist for Westwood (2-0), which won its second straight to start the season.
Senior middie Olivia Hoang and junior middie Elise Powers also scored a goal apiece for Westwood, which has won its first two games by a combined score of 32-12.
Defensively, junior goalie Jacky Echavaria saved seven shots.
LBJ (0-1) lost its season opener.
Westwood led 8-1 at halftime and extended that advantage to as many as nine goals in the second half. At one point, Westwood led 10-1.
“That was the best I’ve ever seen our midfield connect,” Killeavy said. “We ran our offense pretty well. We finally got everything working smoothly.”
