WASH HS: WHSBLA Releases 2010 Realignment, Expansion

The Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association has released its realignment plan for the 2010 season for Division I and Division II.
There will be 49 varsity teams in Washington this season, up from 42 in 2009. Division I has been expanded to 20 teams from 14, and Division II will have 29 teams this season, up from 28.
In Division I, the old single-table format has been scrapped and replaced with two 10-team conferences. In Division II, there will be six conferences ranging from three teams to six.
Seven programs have been promoted from Division II to Division I: Eastside Catholic, Mukilteo, Overlake, King’s Way, Lake Tapps, Stadium and Tacoma. Garfield, meanwhile, has been dropped into Division II. New teams in Division II include: Providence, Silver Lake, Woodinville, Lake Washington, Liberty, Mount Si and Gig Harbor.
