Strake Jesuit senior middie Tyler McLamb has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Bucknell University.

As a junior, McLamb helped lead Strake Jesuit to its first South District title and a spot in the Texas state semifinals for the first time in school history.

Strake Jesuit head coach Mike Block called McLamb a two-way middie who has the ability to do it all.

“He takes a lot of pride in playing defense, he’s real fast and he’s a ground-ball machine,” Block said. “He can play anywhere. More than anything else, he creates a lot of chaos and creates a lot of opportunities for us.”

Block said McLamb’s strength will help him make a successful transition to the college game.

“He’s not the tallest of guys, but he’s very strong,” Block said. “In our strength and conditioning program, he’s in the top 10 in every category.”
