MO BOYS: Tyler Jarvis Signs With Manhattan
Fort Zumwalt West senior middie Tyler Jarvis has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Manhattan College.
Jarvis also considered Mercyhurst, Cabrini and Detroit-Mercy but chose the New York City-based school because he wanted to play Division I lacrosse and liked its overall feel.
“It seemed like a good fit for me,” Jarvis said. “It’s a place I can academically excel and play lacrosse. It’s been a goal of mine to play Division I lacrosse since I was a little kid, and I kind of wanted to get out of Missouri and experience something new.”
Jarvis, who plays club lacrosse for the St. Louis Samurai BlackBelts, said making the transition from playing Division II lax in Missouri to Division I lacrosse at the college level will be difficult. But it is a challenge his is prepared to tackle.
“This summer, it’s going to be a lot of hard work,” Jarvis said. “I’m going to be lifting weights and hitting the wall. It will be extremely tough to make that transition, but I’ve wanted to do this since I started playing lacrosse.”
