COL BOYS: Tim Miaskiewicz Signs With Bellarmine
January 15th, 2009
Mullen senior Tim Miaskiewicz didn’t pick up a lacrosse stick until his freshman year of high school.
Next spring, he’ll be playing NCAA Division I lacrosse.
Miaskiewicz, a 5-foot-11, 180-pound defenseman, has signed a national letter of intent to play at Bellarmine University in Louisville, Ky.
“He’s a great athlete, his stick skills have improved and now he’s a DI player,” Mullen head coach Mitch Brin said. “He’s learning better checks and better skills every year. It’s one of those feel-good lacrosse stories.”
Last season, Miaskiewicz was an honorable-mention, All-Centennial Conference selection, Brin said. He is one of two players from Colorado who have signed with Bellarmine, where he will join with Fort Collins senior Devin Arruabarrena.
“I think he’ll do well,” Brin added. “With his athleticism and good quality coaching at the next level, he will become a good, solid DI player.”
