TEX BOYS: The Woodlands Downs Houston Episcopal, 14-10

Junior attackman Jackson LaPlant registered a game-high six points on three goals and three assists to lead The Woodlands to a 14-10 victory over Houston Episcopal in a Texas High School Lacrosse League South District Division I game Wednesday night.

Sophomore attackman Ian Seale and freshman attackman Connor Pryor each added five points on two goals and three assists to help the Highlanders (5-0) win their fifth straight to start the season.

Junior middie Chase Rogers scored three goals, sophomore middie Connor Milton added a pair and sophomore attackman Spencer Willey and junior middie Luke Anderson each scored once to round out the offense for The Woodlands.

In defeat, Max Skibber had four points on two goals and two assists for Houston Episcopal (6-3), which has lost three of its last four.

The Woodlands led 4-2 at the end of the first quarter, the game was tied, 6-6, at halftime and the Highlanders led 10-8 at the end of the third quarter.

The teams then traded goals to start the fourth, leaving the score at 11-9, and The Woodlands took over from there. The Highlanders used a three-goal run in the fourth, capped by Rogers with 2:31 remaining, to take an insurmountable 14-9 lead.
