Cy Fair
What happen to CyFair at the state playoffs? They went through everyone in Houston with out any illegal Northeast Christian Academy/ex Kingwood players this year. Thought they were a sure thing!! Did the non Houston officials have something to do with it????? Did REEEAAAALLL officiating take its toll???
Cy Fair
I can't speak to the Houston issues, but I was at the game, and Cy-fair did take a lot of penalties, leading to a number of free possesions and free shots for STJ. I think most of the calls were good -- perhaps a few were iffy. I did not keep track, but if I had to guess, I'd say it was 65%-35% fouls against Cy-Fair. The players, and especially the fans, were getting very frustrated.
Houston over????
LOL
Houston produces the best high school players as of late. They cant beat EHS, CY FAIR, or SJS. They just lost in SPC semis. Hockaday is done for a couple of years now....Dallas in general
Houston's reign was over 3
Houston's reign was over 3 years ago. North Texas is the power house now.
DI- Hockaday has got this in the bag for sure. I think Cy-Fair will give Hockaday a run for their money, but it will be Hockaday that comes out on top.
DII- Up for grabs. Coppell has a good team this year, their goalie is amazing. Ursuline has a strong team as well. Houston, not entirely sure how their teams rank up. Kingwood has always been up there, and so has Bellaire...even though they didn't do to well at State last year.
Houston Over???
LOL. Hockaday lost to 2 Houston teams...EHS and today SJS....
Please Hockaday...your time is no more. ESD will take over in Dallas.
But CY FAIR, EHS and SJS will rule again next year.....
LOL you said Hockaday had it in the bag = ignorance.
Houston's reign is NOT over
Are you kidding me? Hockaday's national ranking is a JOKE, as opposed to Cy-Fair or St. John's. Hockaday ranks in at a limp third in state. Even Memorial would probably kick their ass!
Truth be told
Well, as of now there is know doubt in anyones mind who is the "lone star" in this state. Cy Fair has now full control and hold its own destiny. Can they stay this strong or will they start getting tired during the playoffs in weeks to come. Where EHS and SJS get stronger as they just began playing in February and by mid to late April should start getting their groove on....
Hockaday? They have played the weakest schedule. Wait till they have to play the Houston Heat Wave. At least ESD came to Houston and played the top 3 teams in the state. Someone up north wants to get better.....
Rankings
Well after this weekend surely Cy Fair and EHS will flip flop. That being said as long as Cy does not get upset by ESD but Cy Fair has not been tested as of yet or really played anyone worth much worry. Look at their scores....
They have ESD, EHS, and the "truth" that being SJS, next Thursday.
And ESD should be ahead of Memorial and St. Andrews.
LAXPOWER RANKS:
1 Cy-Fair 2 Hockaday SG 3 St. John's, TX
4 Episcopal, Houston
5 Ursuline Academy, TX
6 Episcopal, Dallas 7 Highland Park, TX
8 Plano Club 9Memorial, Houston
10 St. Andrew's Episcopal
Rankings; update
ESD should certainly be ahead of St. Andrew's, as ESD handled them with ease at SPC Tournament. And while the three Houston teams are clearly the strongest, Hockaday (an all-girls school) will always be strong because of large pool of girls to pull from -- they have plenty of players in reserve. ESD is almost entirely freshmen and sophomores this year, and already playing at a pretty high level; only 1 junior and 2 seniors play regularly, so they will only get stronger. They lost to only the 3 Houstons and Hockaday this season, and beat every team behind them in LaxPower rankings.
