Blake School senior middie Steve Patterson has committed to play NCAA Division III lacrosse at Goucher College.

Patterson said he had narrowed it down to the Baltimore-based school and the University of Colorado before deciding to play NCAA-level lacrosse. There is no NCAA program at Colorado, although it does have a successful MCLA Division I team.

“They just have a strong tradition of being really good at lacrosse,” Patterson said of Goucher. “I like their coach, and they have the potential in the next few years to win national championships. I want to be a part of that.”

Patterson said he has seen the level of play at the NCAA Division III level, and he believes he is ready for the challenge.

“I think I can keep up with them,” he said. “I’m going to try to put on some weight and use my athleticism to my advantage.”
