LOU BOYS: St. Thomas More Rolls Past Lafayette, 16-4
Junior attackmen Saban Sellers and Ashton Langlanais each scored a co-team-high three goals to lead St. Thomas More to a 16-4 victory over Lafayette in a Louisiana High School Lacrosse League game Friday night.
Junior attackman Michael Leonpacher and junior middie David Escott each added a pair of goals to help St. Thomas More (2-0) win its second straight to start the season.
Junior middies Louie Bernard and Thomas Billeaud, and junor goalie Andrew Broussard all had a goal and an assist. Sophomore attackman Taylor Martin, senior attackman Scooter Todd and senior attackman Chad Becnel all had a goal to round out the scoring.
Defensively, Broussard stopped six shots.
Lafayette (0-2) lost its second straight to start the season.
St. Thomas More rolled right from the start. It was 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, 11-1 at halftime and 13-3 going into the fourth quarter.
“We played well,” Broussard said. “We hustled real hard. Our shots were on goal, and when we did the right things, the right things happened.”
