LOU-TEX BOYS: Southlake Carroll Rolls Past Captain Shreve

Junior attackman Josh Dees registered a game-high five points on three goals and two assists to lead Southlake Carroll to a decisive, 15-2 victory over Captain Shreve in a Texas vs. Louisiana interstate game Saturday afternoon in Shreveport.
Junior attackman Jason Christensen added four points on three goals and an assist, senior attackman Ben Shipowitz dished four assists and junior middie Paul Stevenson scored three goals to help the Dragons (2-0) win their second straight to start the season.
Junior attackman Grayson Littleton and sophomore middie Matt Pearce each scored twice, and junior attackman Brian Olson and senior middie Morgan Mahoney both had a goal to round out the scoring for Southlake Carroll, which rolled in its first of two games in Shreveport on Saturday.
Southlake Carroll will next play Hoover (Ala.) at 8 p.m., CST, Saturday night.
Captain Shreve (0-1) lost its season opener.
Southlake Carroll led 4-0 at the end of the first quarter, 8-2 at halftime and 11-2 going into the fourth quarter.
“After a slow start, we focused and were able to do a lot of the little things well, especially in the second half,” Southlake Carroll head coach Josh Pico said. “We’ve got plenty of things we can work on, but the attitude and effort continues to be tremendous.”
