MEN: Sean Rogers Leads No. 9 Notre Dame Past Denver, 14-7

Attackman Sean Rogers registered a game-high five points on three goals and two assists to lead No. 9 Notre Dame to a 14-7 victory over Denver in an NCAA Division I game Tuesday afternoon in South Bend, Ind.
Middies Grant Krebs and Zach Brenneman each added three goals to help the Fighting Irish improve to 4-2.
Attackman Neal Hicks scored a pair of goals, and Colin Igoe and David Earl each finished with a goal and an assist for Notre Dame.
Defensively, goalie Scott Rodgers saved nine shots.
In defeat, Alex Demopoulos scored twice, and Mark Matthews and Andrew Lay each had a goal and an assist for the Pioneers (3-4), who had their two-game winning streak snapped. Todd Baxter, Cameron Kerr and Cameron Flint all scored once for Denver.
Notre Dame outshot Denver, 37-23 and had a 25-16 advantage on ground balls. The Fighting Irish also went 14-10 on face-offs.
Notre Dame led 3-2 at the end of the first quarter, 7-3 at halftime and 10-6 at the end of the third quarter.
Denver pulled within 10-7 early in the fourth when Lay scored 14 seconds into the quarter. But the Fighting Irish finished the game on a four-goal run to win going away.
