Mountain Vista senior defenseman Sean Joyce has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Bellarmine University.

Joyce said he also considered Mount St. Mary’s, Providence, Salisbury and Whittier before settling on the Louisville, Ky.-based school.

“I liked the atmosphere and the coaches were cool when I went up there,” Joyce said. “I’m excited to play a Division I sport in college, and it just seems like a really good opportunity for me.”

Joyce added that he is ready to take on the challenge of transitioning to the college game.

“I know I’ve got to definitely hit the gym, get stronger and bigger, and it will take a lot of practice,” Joyce said. “But hopefully I’ll be able to catch on pretty quickly.”
