NLL: San Jose Stealth Thrashes Rochester Knighthaws, 16-6

Forward Jeff Zywicki had a game-high six points on five goals and one assist to lead the San Jose Stealth to a 16-6 victory over the Rochester Knighthawks before a crowd of 3,463 Sunday at H.P. Pavilion.
Colin Doyle and Rhys Duch each added five points, and Alex Turner had four points for the Stealth (1-2), which decisively picked up its first win of the season. Doyle scored two goals and dished three assists, Duch had a goal and four assists and Turner finished with two goals and two assists.
Defensively, goalie Matt Roik saved 38 shots in 51 minutes in the cage.
In a losing effort, Stu Hill and Shawn Williams each had a co-team-high three points for Rochester (0-3), which has lost three straight to start the season. Hill scored two goals and added one assist, and Williams finished with a goal and two assists.
San Jose had an 85-67 advantage in loose balls, and the Stealth had 20 man-up advantages compared with just four for the Knighthawks. San Jose scored eight man-up goals. Rochester had just one.
The Stealth scored the game’s opening six goals and led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter. By the time Eric Martin scored with 8:52 remaining in the first half, San Jose led 10-1.
San Jose led by as many as 11 goals at 15-4 after Paul Rabil scored on a penalty shot with 5:12 to play in the third quarter.
