MEN: San Francisco to Host NCAA Division I Exhibition in Oct.
Northern California will host an NCAA Division I exhibition game this fall when North Carolina and Brown face-off at Kezar Stadium.
The two teams will christen the first-annual San Francisco Fall Lacrosse Classic on Oct. 10 at 3 p.m., PDT. The game will mark the first meeting between two NCAA Division I teams in Northern California. Southern California has hosted several regular-season games.
“That two elite lacrosse programs are traveling across the country to play each other speaks volumes about the growth of lacrosse in California,” event organizer Braden Edwards said in a news release.
Free youth clinics will also be held for kids from fourth to eighth grade featuring players from the participating teams. A free coaches clinic will be held for local youth and high school coaches with the coaching staffs from Brown and North Carolina.
“Playing North Carolina this fall provides a tremendous opportunity to showcase the Brown program and the sport of lacrosse in Northern California,” Brown head coach Lars Tiffany said in a news release.
