SAN DIEGO --
Senior middie Jason McCallum scored all three of his goals in the first half to start fourth-seeded San Diego LaxDawgs Brown Elite on its way to a 10-5 victory over top-seeded Brady’s Bunch in the semifinals of the 2010 Adrenaline Challenge on Sunday afternoon at Robb Field.

Eddie Vita also scored three goals for the LaxDawgs, who improved to 5-0 and continued their weekend offensive explosion. San Diego has scored in double-digits in four of five games.

The LaxDawgs also avenged a one-goal loss to Brady’s Bunch (4-1) in last year’s semifinals.

“This is huge,” said McCallum, who plays his high school lacrosse at La Jolla Country Day. “It’s been a long time in the works. Last year’s game was hotly contested.”

Gabe Garcia scored three goals to lead Brady’s Bunch, which was denied in its bid to advance to the championship game for the third straight year. Brady’s Bunch used to be known as Wild Card Starz.

The LaxDawgs will next face Arizona Burn Orange in the championship game at 2 p.m., PST.

McCallum’s goals all came during a five-goal run that gave the LaxDawgs a 6-1 lead with 13 minutes remaining in the first half. In the middle of that stretch, they struck three times in three minutes on goals by McCallum, Vita and Jake Hamilton.

“We’re finally starting to click,” McCallum said. “”That’s what happens in tournaments. Things start working.”

Brady’s Bunch rallied to close within 6-4 at halftime, but the LaxDawgs struck for the first three goals of the second half to take a 9-4 lead with 18 minutes remaining in regulation.

Kodie Englehart, Christian Ballow and Alex Bookout each scored second-half goals for the LaxDawgs.
