SoCAL HS: Mt. Carmel Girls Lax Coach Arrested for 'Sex Crimes'

January 7th, 2010

Mt. Carmel girls varsity lacrosse coach Rob Alarcon has been arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a minor, according to a report in the North County Times.

Alarcon, 35, was also an assistant soccer coach with the Del Norte High School freshman girls team. He was taken into police custody on Wednesday, Poway Unified School District spokeswoman Sharon Raffer told the newspaper.

The name of the minor he is accused of having contact with has not been released.

Alarcon has coached the girls varsity lacrosse team at Mt. Carmel for the past several seasons. Alarcon also coaches girls youth club soccer at the PQ Premier Club in the Rancho Penasquitos area.

Raffer told the North County Times that Alarcon has been, “permanently released from all duties,” with the Poway Unifed School District.

Alarcon is the second lacrosse coach from northern San Diego County to be arrested in the last year. Last May, Westview boys lacrosse coach Edward Jeziorski was busted for selling cocaine to an undercover police officer.
