The Chaparral boys varsity lacrosse team has yet another new head coach.

P.J. Rovinelli has taken over Arizona’s most successful program, which failed to reach the Arizona Youth Lacrosse League state championship game last season for only the second time. Rovinelli takes over for Jeff Guy, who led the Firebirds to the state semifinals in his only season.

Rovinelli has coached at NCAA Division II Grand Canyon and MCLA Division I Arizona State as an assistant and at MCLA Division I Arizona as a head coach, according to the Chaparral team web site.

Rovinelli played NCAA Division III lacrosse at Springfield College.
