wow

you're joking right?

top 10

 1. Sunset - What can I say they are just so great!!!!!!!!

2. Jesuit - Heck yes How can you stop them.

3. Tigard - so many coming back they will be hard to beat.

4. Lake Oswego - Well they lost everyone but the they are still sick

5. Liberty - Its about time for liberty to take down some big dogs

6. Lakeridge - They keep bringing the heat

7. OES - Martin is so sick no one can stop that guy

8. Lincoln - they lost one good guy so they will be decent

9. Southridge - this could be the year they go somewhere

10. West Linn - Well fay is gone and these lions are hungry

THS

Guys i think we should talk about tigard. they only graduated 7 guys and really only omar made a huge difference on the team. they have a solid very experienced attack line coming back with 2 and 3 year guys on it. their D is gonna be solid with upcoming junior ben Pursley who looks to be the best goalie tiigard has ever seen replacing their old goalie who was less than efffective at anything besides clearing in the goal and three long poles who  will all be playing their third years on varsity. not to mention LSM zach parker who everyone who played against him will admit he is a stud. alos faceoff man dange wolfe who will be a juinor, this year this kid won easily 80% of the faceoffs he took in the metro league. if tigard has a couple of comitted kids who are willing to hit the wall over the summer they could o deep into the playoffs especially with so may metro teams losing so much talent.

Lol

Lol. Tigard is garbage.

Too soon

Really guys? I mean i talk more on these forums than just about anyone else but the season ended like two weeks ago. There's like 9 months till the season starts. Besides there will be a ton of guys no one has ever heard of that step up huge next season. Now is the time to just focus on summer ball.

Good call

Truer words were never spoken

All-state

Who was on all-state this year?

WHO ARE THE TEAMS TO BEAT NEXT YEAR?

based on returning talent who are the teams to beat next year?

Sunset and Lincoln. They will

Sunset and Lincoln. They will be in the finals again next year

Have you been drinking

Sunset is finished - they squandered their best chance to win a state championship. Lost their d-poles, the most overrated goalie in the state, Dill, and a couple of key mids and their JV team sucks - couldn't beat any other quality JV team. Lincoln loses Henry (the best player in the state) - dude scored 12 goals against Lakeridge!!! Lincoln wouldnt have made it to the finals without Henry.

Lincoln has enough talent to return to the finals next year, but Sunset is done.

Completely agree, this was Sunset's one chance.

Sunset is done for. Their only legit player coming back is Kyler Bruno. They are losing just about everything else. Their JV team also did not beat any legitimate program this year.

The two semi-finalist team's in Lake Oswego and Lakeridge both lose a lot also. LO loses their entire attack, some defensemen, and some middies including their best middie in Reed Oliver.

Lakeridge loses Souers, Dutton, Behbahny, and Nielsen so who knows what will happen to the Pacers. Their star next year will be David Swanson, maybe he'll be able to carry the team with a little assistance from Hoch.

Lincoln loses some core guys in Henry, Colby, Aaron, and Jake; however, they have Grant, Tony, and Michael coming back, and all three should have a big year. Dalke is also a good face-off man so he can fill in for Henry. Will Harris is a top coach in the state and he will be able to work another finals appearance to make it four in a row.

West Linn loses Fay. Enough Said. They also lose MacClanthan and Engel, so who knows what will happen to the Lion defense.

Jesuit could be a sleeper next year, they should be a pretty strong team defensively, with Goalie Ben Cheek coming back and Schiedeler returning.

OES loses a few key guys, mainly Williams. But they still have their core in Tareen, Shainsky, Garner, and Winter. And Dennis Sullivan is one of the best coaches in the state so who knows what he could do.

As of now Lincoln appears to be the favorite in Oregon, but it will be a wild and exciting season.

Jesuit

This is realistically Jesuit's last chance at a run for a while.  They have 15 seniors, most of whom are their biggest players.  Pfeffer, Coleman, Bishop, Schiedler, and Cheek are all seniors, plus a few guys who worked off the bench last year.  Not sure if they could win it all, but with a minor coaching change and they could make it to the Semis or maybe even Finals. Wouldn't say they're a favorite at all, but for sure a darkhorse.

Lakeridge

Hate to be the bearer of this news - specially since it has been cool with Lakeridge not dominating the past few years - but their JV team lost 1 game in two years - and wouldve beaten most varsity teams in the state. Their JV team even beat Mercer's Jv team this year.

Their goalie next year will be one of the best in the state. Sorry all - but I honestly think that Lakeridge will be the team to beat. Here's a little known fact - their bench played at least half of the game against Jesuit and dominated them. Jesuit only had four legitimate goals in that game.

Lets not get ahead of ourselves now.

I wouldn't count Sunset out just yet. Just because hardly any of their players play Rhino, doesn't mean they don't have talent on the rise. I will agree that I don't see them standing much of a chance against Lincoln. Sunset's defense is probably going to be average at best (probably not even that). We'll have to wait for the season to start though. Lake Oswego losing their whole attack is a huge blow, since that was definitely their strong point this year. (Same with Sunset and their defense). Jesuit will be good. I still see Sunset winning metro and making a Final Four appearance however. Lets let the season play out though instead of making these mindless predictions when there is no saying what could happen.

I would count Sunset and LO out

Seriously - if not for Regan, Sunset's not even making the final four. Have u seen their JV squad???

Lo loses everyone - and rumour has it that their coach quit - if that's true - then they are done for the next 2-4 years. Sunset's JV team had a lot of juniors on it - and they got beat by a lakeridge jv team that was mostly freshmen and a few sophomores - nuff said.

Sunset JV

They were complete trash, not only did they lose to Lakeridge, they also lost to Jesuit, OES and West Linn. They could not compete with any of the top schools JV programs.

Wrong

They beat Jesuit twice, never lost to them. Lost to OES by 1, and didn't play West Linn. Idk [removed by editor] you should learn what you are talking about before you post.

Losing to OES Jv

I don't know anything about the misinformation - but have you seen OES's JV squad??? That squad is not very good at all - and I'm being nice by calling them not very good. Bottomline: If your JV squad is filled with juniors - it shouldn't be losing to a JV team with mostly freshmen (all of whom start). Not a single player on that Sunset JV team had an off-hand - how awful is that????

What

Jv team started mostly Freshman? If it's oes your wrong. they had i think only 4 freshman start then the rest were sophmores.

?????

Wasn't talking about OES. Lakeridge's JV was mostly freshmen - and they trounced Sunset (who had a lotta juniors). OES's JV blows - and they beat Sunset - that was my point.

Jake was a junior. Lincoln

Jake was a junior. Lincoln returns all of their defense including their goaly.

Lincoln's Defense

Oh - cause we all know how awesome their defense was!!! Come on - its easy to play defense when your team is dominating face-offs and the other squad isnt getting offensive possessions.

Lincoln D

Lincoln played quite a bit of D during the championship and yet they essentially shut the attack down in a game where Sunset won the majority of the faceoffs. Jake silenced Ben Dill and Will Hurst is an animal so they're pretty much set in that regard. Jack DeWolfe, while underrated, rarely ever gets beat and is very solid. Lincoln's depth is much more of an issue than their D.

Okay?

Silenced? That's why he still got 2 goals and an assist. Sure Jake played good defense but I wouldn't say he silenced anyone.

Yeah I meant what I said

One of dills goals was on a fastbreak, the other one was after Jake had slid from crease, and the assist was on man up. Jake wasn't responsibile for any of his points so when Jake was on dill, dill was silent.

Lincolns depth is an issue

I agree, lincoln's D will be fine not to mention their goalie who played well in the championship game. their depth is an issue but their jv team isn't bad either. they only lost to lakeridge jv by one or a couple so they might get some new guys. they have an LSM returning that was a monster considering he hadnt played since eighth grade. Im sure they will find someone to be their middie threat now that henry is gone.

Any predictions?

Who do you think will be in the finals on Saturday? Any of the top 4 teams could win it all this year, should be interesting to watch.

k-18 on 10 crankshaft degree

i have a k-18 head on a 10 degree crankshaft. like new. retails for $270. i was thinking selling it for $210 OBO. give me a call 9712213799

Score wrong for Sunset vs Beaverton game

Actual score for Sunset vs Beaverton game is 17-1 not 17-11. Ohsla.net posted wrong score, just thought I would mention that. I'm not a player or parent from either team, just an Oregon lacrosse fan and thought that the correct score should be reported.

Funny

Funny how WSL faithfully reported each Bainbridge loss to an Oregon team (and great teams they are!) - Lincoln, West Linn, Lakeridge - but they leave out the victory over Lake Oswego, who is ranked higher than two of those teams.  Particularly at the end of the season, as teams are preparing for the playoffs.

Explanation

If "reported" you mean post the score, we did that for every game, including the one on Saturday. If "reported" you mean write a game recap, you're not totally correct. There was no game report on the West Linn-Bainbridge Island game.

As for Saturday, this is what we in the news business call a "heavy news day." The reason why there was no Bainbridge Island-Lake Oswego game story was because there were 4 state championship games being played in Utah, 2 girls state championship games being played in Washington, 4 boys state quarterfinal games being played in Colorado, the MCLA Division I national championship game, a game in Idaho involving the state's top 2 ranked teams....

Had this game been played on almost any other day, we would have been all over it. In other words, Bainbridge Island picked a bad day from a publicity standpoint to win its biggest game of the season.

Thanks Nate

Much appreciated.

JD

Juan Diego Catiholic High school is the best team in the nation...

we still have to talk about peter and parker

Lincolns team last year wasnt just peter, he was no doubt a big part but that whole team put in work to win that title. half the time pete would stand 15 yards out of the box being locked off and the rest of the team would score 10 goals and the other team would start to figure out he is not the whole team. lincoln will be good this year, and i would but my money on them being in the final 4, and may get their second ring.

and i read something saying that oes wouldnt have won without parker... not true, they had the whole package. enough O to get it done and a D that will shut you down, a lot of parkers saves were cake saves because the D wont let off a good shot. and dont take that in the wrong way parker is the best goalie i have ever seen. oes's d will do the same thing this year, you could have half caliber golie and he will still be sick because the d around him.

 Not to insult the OES

Not to insult the OES defense, but Parker made over 25 saves in the State championship game. Many of which were point blank or wide open shots. Tareen is a good defender and did a good job on peter, and no argument that Torben was sick. Ruben was also pretty effective, but other than that Lincoln got the shots they wanted Parker was just too good. OES would have had no shot without parker last year, and I can assure you with Lewis this year it will become extremely evident.

And keep in mind no one is arguing that we have a powerhouse at goalie, just saying that if there is any drop from Logan to Max, it's really not a sizable one.

Well Said

You make some great points. I never doubted Lincoln's to win another title - mostly just mesing with Tony.

My point is this: Lincoln will not be as good as they were last year. If Max is so much better than Logan - then why didn't they start him over Logan last season?

You do not lose the caliber of players that Lincoln lost - and return a stronger team. This is known as logic.

Cornell has a great team, but they will not be as good as they were last year, because they lost arguably one of the best middies to ever play the game in Siebald.

Can we just drop the Lincoln thing already?? It just isn't that interesting anymore.

ank?

ank?

Lincoln

Lincoln didn't proclaim themselves as the team to beat. Westsidelax did.

Lincoln being #1

I never said that Lincoln is terrible. Go back and read the comments. I said that they will not be as good as they were last year. Lincoln is a good team - they are a good program and consistently place in the top 4 every year. It was the Lincoln guys that got all worked up.

Lincoln has some very good players and a very good program, but that one title seems to have gotten to their heads. They are not the team to beat this year. Honestly, this year is very wide open, because so many teams have huge question marks that can only be answered once games begin. Proclaiming yourself as the team to beat is a very arrogant thing to do; especially when you didn't even win last year & you lost the bulk of your offensive output as well as your starting goalie & your best defender.  Besides, its fun to mess with mini-baum:)

 So after proclaiming

So after proclaiming yourself better than Peter Baum, and everyone else to have come out of Lincoln, I think it's only fair that you reveal to all of us who you actually are.

And yeah, besides Ryan Powell, and maybe Pat Rogers, I don't think you can name a player in Oregon history that is better than Peter. If you can, please enlighten us.

Hah!!!

Mini-me, you are so hilarious. Do you have dreams about your brother every night? There are too many club players in this state that are better than your brother. Too many to name as a matter of fact.  your brother is good, but he's barely out of high school. There's so much for him to learn about the game of lacrosse. Humility would be a good start. Although, you might actually be more arrogant/cocky. How can you take yourself seriously after using "Ryan Powell" in the same sentence as "Peter Baum", by way of comparison?????

Just check the handle. The handle speaks the truth: LAXMASTER!!!!

 So name one...

 So name one...

;)

Brian Silcott, Jon Tamerlano, Pete Lamb, Josh Shane, Dan Cochran, Andrew Parker, Michael Clayton. I could go on and on and on. Seriously dude, you actually believe that the only player better than your brother is one of thr best players to ever play the game of lacrosse!!!!!

What has your brother accomplished????  This is too easy:)

 Silcott moved and never

Silcott moved and never played here really, Parker wasn't as good as Peter clearly since Pete won player of the year even though OES won the championship. Clayton is good but let's be honest he plays at Chapman, he clearly didn't have the skill to play at a top twenty D1 team otherwise he would have. I don't know who the other four are but if they're more random lakeridge guys that play at Chapman i think we can assume they're not as good.

And Peter has accomplished Oregon Player of the Year (something Parker and Clayton never did), he was an Under Armor All-American (the only one in Oregon history), and he was offered a spot at Duke and Syracuse.

I think we can safely say he has accomplished more (as an individual) than anyone you mentioned, except for Silcott, but he doesn't really count as an Oregon lacrosse player. And i know there are countless players that are better than Peter out there, but the fact of the matter is you just aren't one of them. Sorry big guy, just accept it.

??????

You are certifiably delusional. 1st of all, Clayton is the only lakeridge player on that list. 2nd of all, I guess Kyle Harrisson didn't know what he was talking about, when he said that Clayton could play in the MLL. Kyle Harrisson clearly doesn't know as much about lacrosse as Tony Baum.

The fact that you don't even know the others on the list, shows how little you know. Parker is a better player than Peter. A goalie is one of the most (if not the most) important player on a lacrosse field. That kid (Parker) could have gone anywhere if he had his head together (what a waste).

Your love for your brother is clinically disturbing. Here you are, so engrossed in a battle of words on a website, over something so silly. You haven't eve realized that I've been messing with you from day one!!!

I think the real issue, is that you have a complex about the fact that your brother is a better lacrosse player than you will ever be;)

lol- this is really too easy:)

Either admit who you are or

Either admit who you are or I'm done. Cause after claiming to better than every lincoln player in history you're completely not credible unless you can prove you're not some scrub from lakeridge.

And if this is Ryan Powell

And if this is Ryan Powell like it's starting to seem like it must be, I'm sorry I'm not even gonna bother talking lacrosse anymore because theres is no doubt your lacrosse knowledge far exceeds mine. But I can't help wonder is your life actually so mundane at this point that you really sit around and argue with teenagers on lacrosse forums? I'm sorry but that's just ridiculous. Even if it's not Powell you're clearly an adult, and seriously man, move on. It's a little hilarious that you'd really sit around and talk shit to high schoolers. These forums are for players dude, move on. There have to be more important things going on in your life than talking shit to people nearly twenty years younger than you.

From here on out I'm done commenting on this forum, feel free to take any and all shots about my allegiance to my brother, my personal skill, my teams skill, or my egomaniacal mindsets. Just know that I don't care anymore, because you're an adult that has nothing better to do than to talk shit to a seventeen year old about stuff that has absolutely no bearing on your life.

Hey Tiny T

Tiny - its me!!!!! Petey pie. Sorry lil bro, I was just having some fun by messing you:) Just like when we were lil kids. Don't stress tho, I'm not gonna give you atomic wedgies when I come home.

Pussy

Aww cute, you're actually afraid of admitting who you are. I understand though, after all the shit you've talked I'd be embarrassed to admit it if I was just a lakeridge scrub with my head up my ass too. It's okay, we all forgive you.
