SoCAL GIRLS: Olivia Archer Signs With St. Mary's College
May 17th, 2010
Mira Costa senior middie-attacker Olivia Archer has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at St. Mary’s College of California.
Archer said she also considered Denver, Curry, Whittier, Colorado State and Drexel before settling on the Moraga, Calif.-based school.
“I had a very good feeling about the school,” Archer said. “I loved the coach, and the program was a good fit for me. I have family there, but it’s far enough away from home that I can experience something new.”
Archer said she is prepared to make the transition to the faster-paced college game and life on campus.
“It’s going to be difficult, but I have a feeling I can do it,” she said. “Going to college, being the first time away from home for a long period of time will be a hard transition. But I think I can do it pretty easily.”
