COL GIRLS: No. 4 Denver East Tops Heritage/Littleton, 19-13

Junior attack Lizzie Larson registered a game-high 10 points to lead No. 4 Denver East to a 19-13 victory over Heritage/Littleton in a Colorado High School Activities Association game Monday afternoon.
Larson scored six goals and added four assists, as the Angels exploded for 10 second-half goals to pull away with an impressive victory.
Senior middie Kelley McCarroll-Gilbert added seven points on four goals and three assists, and junior middie Maxwell Blair had six points on three goals and three assists for Denver East.
Rounding out the scoring for the Angels, Tierra Romero and Tori Larson each scored twice, and Mary Prevedel and Helen Gaffigan both posted a goal and an assist.
Defensively, goalie Mikayla Sullivan saved 11 shots, Blair had seven draw controls and Romero had five draw controls and five ground balls.
Heritage/Littleton (0-2) lost its second straight to start the season despite having scored 27 goals in its first two games.
Heritage/Littleton’s defense, however, has allowed 34 goals in those same two games.
Denver East led 9-5 at halftime before scoring double figures in the second half. Thirteen of the Angels’ 19 goals were assisted.
