SoCAL BOYS: No. 22 Foothill-OC Outlasts Los Alamitos, 8-5

March 28th, 2010

Junior attackman Cameron Cole registered a game-high five points on four goals and one assist to lead No. 22 Foothill-Orange County to an 8-5 victory over Los Alamitos in a CIF-Southern Section game Saturday night.

Junior middie Cooper Pickell added a pair of assists to help the Knights (7-1) win their third straight.

Senior middie Dylan Primrose, senior attackman Taylor DeBerry, junior middie Eric Adamson and sophomore attackman Brad Bochesa all scored once to round out the offense for Foothill.

In defeat, sophomore attackman Ozzie Hyde scored twice for Los Alamitos (4-3), which had its two-game winning streak snapped.

The game was tied, 1-1, at the end of the first quarter, Foothill led 4-3 at halftime and the Knights led 6-4 at the end of the third. Foothill then broke open what had been a close game by scoring back-to-back goals to start the fourth.

Cole scored his fourth of the night to give Foothill an 8-4 lead with 4:10 remaining.

“We played as a team, and we played hard,” Foothill head coach Jon Fox said. “We got a couple breaks with the ball bouncing our way, and that happens when you’re working hard.”
