TEX GIRLS: No. 22 Cy-Fair Crushes Kinkaid for 4th Straight Win

Junior middie Emily Newstrom and sophomore Shannon Jamieson each registered a co-game-high six points to lead No. 22 Cy-Fair to an 18-5 victory over Kinkaid in a Texas Girls High School Lacrosse League South District Division I game Monday night.
Newstrom and Jamieson each finished with four goals and two assists, as the Iron Maidens (4-0) rolled to their fourth straight lopsided win. Cy-Fair has won its opening four games by a combined, 73-16.
Sophomore Bridget Kimball scored three goals, sophomore Shannon Pritts had three points on two goals and one assist and sophomore Chelsea Hooker scored twice for Cy-Fair.
Rounding out the offense for the victors: Junior Delaney Fisher finished with a goal and an assist, and sophomore Kelsey Gilbert and junior Aliceann Rogers each scored once.
In defeat, senior Kenner Smith scored a team-high three goals for Kinkaid, which fell to 2-1.
Cy-Fair rolled to a 7-1 halftime lead before pouring in 11 more goals in the second half.
Cy-Fair opened the season with a 19-0 win over Klein, a 19-5 victory over Cedar Park and a 17-6 win over St. Andrew’s Episcopal.
