NorCAL GIRLS: No. 18 St. Ignatius Prep Routs Miramonte, 16-6

Junior middie Rachel Hinds scored a game-high six goals to lead No. 18 St. Ignatius Prep to a 16-6 victory over Miramonte in a Northern California CIF intersectional game Thursday afternoon.
Junior middie Caitlin Ng added three points on two goals and one assist, and sophomore middie Tess Mattimore scored a pair of goals to help the Wildcats (1-1) bounce back from their surprising season-opening loss to Palo Alto.
Junior attack Christina Cohan and senior middie Kaly Leonoudakis each finished with a goal and an assist, and four players scored once to round out the offense for St. Ignatius Prep.
In defeat, Alex Seclow scored a team-high three goals for Miramonte (2-2),which had its two-game winning streak snapped.
St. Ignatius Prep rolled to a 10-1 halftime lead, and the Wildcats were ahead by as many as 11 goals in the second half. When senior attack Sophie Robinson scored with 18:11 remaining, St. Ignatius had a commanding 14-3 lead.
“I’m really happy with how we played today,” St. Ignatius Prep head coach Amy Harms said. “It was a good rebound from last week’s game against Palo Alto. Overall, I think we played well on all ends of the field. Our transition defense gave us a lot of extra opportunities on the offensive end on caused turnovers, and we executed on offense.”
