The Westminster men’s lacrosse team completed its spring-break road trip to the Pacific Northwest at 3-0 after defeating No. 8 Western Oregon, 7-6, on Tuesday afternoon in an MCLA Division II game.
No. 11 Westminster held off a late rally from the home team to improve to 4-1 and win its fourth straight.
The Griffins led 4-2 through three quarters before both teams erupted for multiple goals in the fourth. Western Oregon outscored Westminster 4-3 in the final 15 minutes, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Griffins’ early attack.
Josh Condas led Westminster with three goals, and Andrew Gordon finished with two goals and one assist. Jacob Wayman had three assists, and Hayden Dixon added two assists. Dallin Hall and Jake Arthur also scored to round out the offense for the Griffins.
Goalie Dallas McLellan earned his second win of the season, recording 14 saves on 20 shots.
