NEB HS: Nate Hoeckelman Named New Head Coach at Lincoln
August 10th, 2009
Nate Hoeckelman has been named the new head coach for the city of Lincoln’s only boys varsity lacrosse team.
Hoeckelman replaces Greg McManus, who will now be the program’s director of operations. In his only year as head coach, the first year of the program, McManus led Lincoln to an 0-17 record in 2009.
McManus will now focus on expanding the sport in Nebraska’s capital city, with a goal of creating new clubs and guiding future programs into the new Nebraska Youth Lacrosse League.
Hoeckelman comes to Lincoln after having coached the men’s and women’s teams at the University of Nebraska in 2008. Hoeckelman coached high school lacrosse at the varsity level in Missouri before relocating to Nebraska.
