NorCAL BOYS: Mitch Flaherty Commits to Mesa State College
August 6th, 2010
Amador Valley senior attackman Mitch Flaherty has committed to play NCAA Division II lacrosse at Mesa State College.
Flaherty said he also considered Towson, Stony Brook, Stevenson, Air Force, Army and Dominican before he settled on the Grand Junction, Colo.-based school which will begin playing lacrosse in the spring of 2011.
“They have a lot of recruits who I know,” Flaherty said. “It sounded like a good option. They have exactly what I want academically, and I didn’t really feel like going back East was for me. I wanted to stay more out West, closer to family and friends.”
Flaherty added that he is pumped to make the transition to the college game.
“I’m pretty excited,” he said. “It’s going to be a big change from high school to Division II lacrosse, but I’m ready to make every change I have to.”
