NEV BOYS: Mike Quinn Commits to Vermont
October 30th, 2009
Palo Verde senior attackman-middie Mike Quinn has committed to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at the University of Vermont.
Quinn said he also considered Sacred Heart, Canisius, Quinnipiac, Pennsylvania and the Virginia Military Institute before settling on the Burlington-based school.
“They gave me really good attention and contact,” Quinn said. “On my visit, I got to meet the coaches and I loved them right away. They’re a great group. They know the game really well, and they know how to present it to college-age students.
“Everyone seemed to really like playing there. Everything seemed to fit in and feel right. It seemed like a really great place to be.”
Quinn added that going from Las Vegas to New England will be a transition, but he’s pumped to take on the challenge.
“It’s definitely a big change of pace,” Quinn said. “But it’s something I’m really looking forward to, working hard and stepping up to playing at that level, playing my hardest and trying to make as much of an impact as I can.”
