The University of Arizona has turned to a familiar face to revitalize its men’s lacrosse program.

Mickey-Miles Felton has been named the Laxcats’ new head coach. Felton, 64, will return to the Arizona sideline after eight years away from the program.

Felton became Arizona’s head coach in 1976 and stayed in the role for 25 years before his initial retirement in 2001.

“We're very excited with bringing Mickey in,” Arizona team captain Alex Beauchamp said in a news release. “The team is very excited, and everyone I've talked to is very excited. We're supposed to have a great freshman class coming in as well, so we should be looking pretty good.

“With all due respect to our past coaches, what Mickey brings to us is his experience, and he's also bringing in guys with him that have experience as well, and I think that's going to make the transition a lot smoother.”
