COL GIRLS: Meredith Dunn Signs With Duquesne

Regis Jesuit senior middie Meredith Dunn has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Duquesne University.

Dunn inked her commitment with the Pittsburgh-based school during the early-signing period, Regis Jesuit head coach Bruce Barker said. Dunn is one of two players from Colorado to sign with Duquesne. She joins Cherry Creek middie-defender Laura Aeschbacher.

“She’s got incredible stick skills,” Barker said. “Her shot selection and accuracy is just outstanding. Her transition to defense is just as strong, so she’s a threat on either end of the field.”

Dunn is ranked No. 20 in WSL’s Elite 25 girls individual power rankings. Barker said he expects her to excel at the college level.

“It’s certainly a different style of play than what she’s used to or what she’s seen in high school, but she’s the one who could easily adapt,” Barker said. “She puts in so much time outside of practice on her own that I don’t think she’ll have any trouble adjusting.”
