Fountain Valley senior goalie Maxine Luckett has signed a national letter of intent to play NCAA Division I lacrosse at Stanford University.

Luckett said she also considered Amherst and Princeton before she settled on the Northern California-based school.

“It was just kind of the one that worked out the best,” Luckett said. “I loved the school, I love California and I loved the coaching staff.”

Luckett is one of two Colorado-based seniors to sign with Stanford. When she gets to campus, she will be joined by Cherry Creek senior middie Annie Anton.

“I’m excited,” Luckett said. “I love the sport, and I can’t wait to continue it at a much higher level.”
