MO BOYS: MSLA Playoffs: MICDS Upsets Parkway West, 14-6

Junior middie Tucker Sanders-Lyle scored a game-high seven goals to lead fifth-seeded MICDS to a 14-6 victory over fourth-seeded Parkway West in a Missouri Scholastic Lacrosse Association Division I quarterfinal Friday afternoon.
Senior attackman Billy Acker added five points on two goals and three assists, junior attackman Keith Harvison had three points on a goal and two assists and senior middie Nick Theodoro scored twice to help the Rams (10-6) advance to the state semifinals.
MICDS will next face the winner of Saturday’s Rockhurst Jesuit-Parkway Central quarterfinal.
Senior attackman Mark Holekamp and sophomore attackman Mac Cornwell each scored once to round out the offense for MICDS.
In the cage, senior goalie Bryce Potter saved 14 shots.
Parkway West finished the season 13-5.
MICDS led 4-2 at the end of the first quarter, 8-4 at halftime and 11-5 at the end of the third quarter.
“I’m really excited for our team,” MICDS head coach Andy Kay said. “That was the first complete game we had all season. We improved our face-off play, our goalie had a tremendous outing and the boys worked very, very hard.”
