ROHNERT PARK, Calif. -- Middie Tajee Mobley scored a game-high four goals to lead the Los Angeles Mavericks to a 10-6 victory over Seattle Starz Navy in an Adrenaline High School Shootout Adrenaline Group first-round game Friday night at Sonoma State University.

Middie Camron Crupp dished three assists, attackman Trevor Sampson scored twice and attackman Dustin Marvin had a goal and an assist to help the Mavericks (2-0) move into a first-place tie with Arizona Burn Orange in the group.

Middies Michael Whinfrey and Alec Hoag and attackman Kodiak Spydell all scored once for Los Angeles.

In defeat, middie Connor Dennehy and attackman Barrett Jenness each scored twice, and attackman Ben Anderson had two assists for Seattle (1-1). Middies Nick Peters and Justin Riggins also scored once.

In a back-and-forth game, Los Angeles rolled to a 6-1 lead after Mobley scored his second of the game in the opening minute of the second half.

But Seattle came storming back.

The Starz went on a 5-1 run over the next 10 minutes and pulled within 7-6 after Dennehy scored his second on a 15-yard rip with 14 minutes to play. However, Mobley answered with back-to-back goals, and Spydell scored with an outside rip of his own to make it 10-6.

The game was called with five minutes to play after Dennehy went down with a leg injury.

“We’re coming together now,” Mobley said. “Our first game was a little shaky, but second game we’re running the offense. Our defense looks amazing, so we’re coming around.”
