MEN/WOMEN: Lindenwood Becoming NCAA DII Program
July 15th, 2010
Lindenwood University will become an NCAA Division II program in men’s and women’s lacrosse, the school has announced.
The St. Charles, Mo.-based school is currently an NAIA program in 21 sports, including lacrosse. The entire school will play two more years in the NAIA before its provisional NCAA year in 2012-13.
In 2013-14, Lindenwood will become a full NCAA Division II program, making it the second school to have NCAA-sanctioned lacrosse in Missouri.
“This is wonderful news for our institution,” Lindenwood President James D. Evans said in a news release. “It is an exciting time. We’ve made many changes in athletics over the past year, and there are many more to come. We’re all very proud, but there is much work yet to be done.”
