May 15th, 2009
Junior middie Meghan Jordan registered a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists to lead Lakeridge to a 15-6 victory over Marist in an Oregon Girls Lacrosse Association quarterfinal Thursday night.
Junior attack Allie DeBruhl added a game-high five goals, and junior attack Haley Fauvelle scored twice, as the Pacers (15-3) advanced to the state semifinals.
Lakeridge will next face No. 13 Oregon City, the state’s top-ranked team, on Monday, May 18, at 6 p.m., PDT, at Tualatin Hills Park. Oregon City has already beaten Lakeridge twice this season.
“We have to keep playing as a team, and we have to play hard the entire game,” Jordan said. “We’re really excited that we get another chance to play them. It’ll be a good game.”
On Thursday, senior attack Steph Tarlow, junior middie Sarah Seals, sophomore middie Quinn Piper and senior middie Annie Missell all had a goal to round out the offense for the Pacers.
Marist, which made its deepest playoff run ever, finished the best season in program history at 14-2.
Lakeridge led 7-5 at halftime before it pulled away in the second half. The Pacers outscored Marist 8-2 over the final 25 minutes.
“We played really well tonight,” Jordan said. “We were really consistent throughout the entire game, and we played hard for 50 minutes. We played a really good team game. We used each other, and we had great transitions.”
